New Chicago is located about 2 km east of Drytown on New Chicago Road. It was once a bustling mining community with about twenty homes, a hotel, several stores, a butcher shop, a saloon, and a livery stable. Two twenty-stamp mills in the town crushed 85 tons of ore daily from the nearby mines.
